Yard of the Month

The Yard of the Month Program has been established to inspire residents of Hampton Park to take pride in the appearance and upkeep of their yards, demonstrating above average efforts in maintaining their property, and improving the appearance of our community.

Guidelines
  • The regular “Yard of the Month” program will begin May 1, and will end September 30. One yard will be selected during the first week of each month.
  • A “Best Halloween Decoration” award will be presented in October, approximately two weeks prior to Halloween.
  • A “Best Christmas Display” award will be presented in December, approximately two weeks prior to Christmas.
  • All current Hampton Park properties will be eligible.
  • The yard may be maintained by the homeowner or a landscaping professional.
  • An award duration term lasts a single calendar month and runs from the first day of the month, to the last day of the month.
  • The same property cannot receive more than one award in the same 12-month calendar period.  At least 12 months must elapse between awards for the same yard.
  • Recognition will apply to the current calendar month only.  Awards made in the middle of the month will not roll into the next month.
  • Yard of the month winners must be current with their Association dues and have no liens or fines against their properties.
  • Winners will be disqualified if their property is in violation of any HPHOA covenants or regulations or falls below standards present when award was presented.
  • Hampton Park board members are not eligible for this award.
  • While an individual’s home is being recognized as a Hampton Park Yard of the Month, they are expected to maintain their yard in the same manner that allowed them to win the title.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
  • Each designated winner will receive a gift card valued at $25.00 from Lowe’s Home Improvement, and will be allowed to display a “Yard of the Month” sign in their yard for the entire month.
  • Judging will be administered entirely by volunteer HPHOA Board members.
  • Award winners are selected, based on the recommended judging criteria listed below.

  • Candidates will be judged on the overall curb appeal of their property and yard, as viewed from the street.

The Hampton Park Homeowners Association is dedicated to improving the quality of living and appearance of our community. We encourage residents of Hampton Park to take pride in their homes and neighborhood.  In turn, we look to celebrate those who do a superior job in maintaining their yards in such a way that they enhance the overall curb appeal of the entire community.
